The “Third Friday Sing” (Edinburgh)

Since 2015, there has been a monthly Edinburgh singing at the Quaker Meeting House at 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh EH1 2JL from 7 to 9.30pm. This was suspended thanks to Covid-19, but restarted in October 2022, at a new venue: Gorgie Dalry Stenhouse ("GDS") Church of Scotland, Gorgie Rd, Edinburgh EH11 2NX.

An informal record of what was sung each month can be found here.
The frequency list of songs (ie, what's been sung most often at the Edinburgh sings) can be found here.

In case you're looking for ideas for a song to lead, or want to look at any songs in advance (strictly optional!), here are some suggestions. This selection should ensure a good variety of styles, levels of difficulty, etc. It includes 18th/19th-century songs, plain/fuguing, major/minor/modal, different modes of time and so on. It's easy to find videos and recordings on the web (try YouTube), and the links below lead to a copy of the score with electronic sounds.
